![]() Aren't you one of the people that are constantly railing against Amazon because they don't respect the wants and needs of their customers? How are you any different? It's a good thing that you don't work for Kobo, or we would be completely locked in to whatever you have decided is the best way for a reader to work. and please don't say that your wants and needs and workflow are better or more important than mine. Why can't you accept that other people have different wants and needs than you do?. For the uninitiated, a plugin is essentially a software component that is added to an existing application in order to enhance that application further. I know that I can edit the tags manually, but then if I do a metadata download, I will have all of the crap tags back. Calibre includes a number of user-built plugins to give you even more control over your eBook collection. If I look at the built-in "Tags" column, it has multiple entries, none of which I want to use. Kobo driver: Allow using templates to generate collections Book details popup: Double clicking on the cover now uses calibres internal image viewer. In Calibre, in my custom column is where that is defined. For instance.I have a collection called "Darkover" that has books set in the Darkover universe, no matter who they were written by. Currently our series, MysteryHouse, contains 6 books: The Mysterious House The Mysterious Palace The Mysterious Mansion The Mysterious Bungalow The Mysterious Mid-Century Modern If we were to simply transfer them to our Kindle, there would be no indication which book came first or last in the series. Rather than going through every book and changing those tags for every book, I just use my custom column for the books that *I* want to add tags to. With this option, calibre will never remove a collection.-> Only on send: Calibre updates metadata and adds/removes collections for a book only when it is sent to the Kobo.-> Automatic management: Calibre automatically keeps metadata on the Kobo in sync with the calibre library, on every connect. I don't use the tags column, because it's automatically populated with the crap that the publisher thinks is relevant. Do you see a need for a third collection column?I do. move the books into the correct order and change the starting number back to 1. open 'Manage Series Information On Device' in KoboUtilities. ![]() It's doing nothing for you that the Tags column cannot do. highlight all of the books in the series on the device.
